What is Hot-Swapping?
Normally, switches are soldered directly to the keyboard's circuit board. To change switches, you'd need to desolder the old ones and solder new ones — a process requiring specialized tools and skills.
Hot-swappable keyboards use special sockets (like Millmax or Kailh sockets) that hold the switches in place WITHOUT soldering. You can pull a switch out and push a new one in with just your fingers.

Millmax Sockets
